100 Days of School!

Today we celebrated 100 days of school. We have been counting the days and waiting for our 100 day party!
We were so excited and had a fabulous day.
Here are some of the things we did:

We had 100 balloons in our classroom!
(Thank you to the parents who helped blow them up!)

We made crowns with Room 8 and 9.

 And cool glasses!

We made a caterpillar with 100 parts. Or maybe it was a centipede!

We even went through 100!

We put 100 spots on a ladybug. (Miss Smith's favourite!)

We wrote about what we would like 100 of. A lot of people wanted 100 animals. We wondered how we would feed them all!
Then we had 100 snacks. We had sunflower seeds, pretzels, raisins, popcorn, mini marshmallows, banana chips, rice bubbles, cornflakes, chocolate chips and pebbles.
We had 10 of each thing because we know that 10 groups of 10 = 100

In the afternoon we made pictures with our buddy class of what we think we might look like when we are 100. What a scary thought! Come and see what we think we will look like on our wall.

At the end of the day we got a certificate for completing 100 days of school. We had such a fun day and wish it was the 100th day of school every day!

We took home a 100 chart too.
Parents, you could ask your child to show you their counting to 100. We have also been learning to skip count in 2's, 5's and 10's. Or you could also play a 'Guess my number' game and give your child clues about a certain number e.g. it is after 46 but before 48.
Have fun!
