Pyjama Day

We had a very fun day in our pyjamas on Friday. It felt like we should have been having a big sleep!
There were so many different types of pyjamas. We didn't see very many people with the same ones!
Here are some of the things we did...

 Our Pyjama Day class photo

.....and a silly one.....

Then we had a little sleep and listened to a story about junping on the bed.

We sang and acted out '10 in the bed.'
We made some pictures of Bananas in Pyjamas.

We made some sleep masks ...
...and tested them out!

We built a city outside and played with the PE gear.

In the afternoon we went to be part of the parade to honour paralympian Mary Fisher. She used to go to Silverstream School. It felt a bit strange being outside in our pyjamas!

We had streamers to throw when Mary came along.
The whole school came out to see her.

 There she is!

There were even photographers and One News camera men.

We could see her medals really well!
Some college boys did a haka for her too.
Here is a link to a report about it.

Gala, Gala, Gala!

Preparation for the Gala is happening all around the school.
In Room 7 we have been making bubble wands and butterfly paintings with our feet.
The finished products will be sold on the craft stall on Gala Day.
Here are some photos of us making them....

We threaded the beads to make the handle for our bubble wands.

It tickled a lot when Mrs Routhan painted our feet!
Our foot prints look really great. Don't forget to come and see them on Sunday the 23rd, 11.00am-2.00pm.

Welcome to Heather Campbell our new student teacher.
Mrs Campbell will be working in Room 7 until the end of term. She is currently completing her bachelor of education. She will be working with Miss Smith in the classroom and then completing approximately 5 days of sole charge teaching.
It will be great to have her!
